(A) The Police Department is authorized and directed to collect a fee of $5 for the inspection process for each motor vehicle which must be inspected prior to registration in the state.
(B) A receipt shall be issued by the Police Department for each inspection fee collected. The revenues so collected shall be periodically, not less than monthly, delivered to the Clerk-Treasurer of the town, and the revenues received from the inspections authorized by this division shall be deposited into the vehicle inspection fund, appropriations from which may only be used for law enforcement purposes.
